What we collect
If you send our form, we collect what you type (your name, phone, optional email, the kind of fall you pick from our list, and how you'd like us to reach you), plus your IP address and browser type. We also record the submission time, your consent response and the version of the consent wording you saw. We use this to prevent spam and to document your request. Submissions flagged by our spam checks are kept for review and abuse prevention for the period described below. Our web host keeps standard server logs.
How we use it
To respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we can help, to document your request and consent, to prevent spam and abuse, and (for site-usage data) to understand how the site is used. Form messages are stored with our web host and emailed to our office. We do not sell your information. We use Cloudflare to host this site and store form submissions, and Resend to send form messages to our office. These providers process the submission and related technical information needed to provide those services.
Calls, texts and email
We'll contact you the way you choose on our form (call, text or email) about your request. Texts are sent by our staff. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts, or call (317) 780-8000 or email don@pb-law.com, and we'll honor it within 10 business days.
Cookies and tracking
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how the site is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes technical information about visits, such as device and browser information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If spam protection such as Cloudflare Turnstile is turned on, it processes your IP address and browser data to block spam. We do not sell your information.
Keeping and deleting your information
Our records schedule, which we are putting in place, is:
- Submissions confirmed as spam: 30 days after we receive them.
- Inquiries that don't lead to representation and don't involve legal advice: three years after we close the inquiry or our last substantive contact, whichever is later.
- Consultations where we give substantive legal advice, and client case files: at least seven years after the matter closes, with a lawyer's review before anything is destroyed.
- A limited record of your contact request, your consent and how we handled your inquiry: five years after final disposition or our last contact relying on that consent, whichever is later, or longer if it belongs in a file we keep longer.
- Raw IP address and browser information in our own intake records: 90 days, unless needed for a specific security incident, dispute or legal hold.
- Duplicate copies in our website storage and office email: removed within 90 days after the inquiry is filed in our secure office records. The filed record follows the periods above.
We keep minimal opt-out and conflict-check records for as long as needed to honor your choices and meet our professional duties. They are not marketing lists, and keeping a record doesn't mean we may keep contacting you.
We are still setting up the tools that apply this schedule automatically. Until they are in place, records, including raw IP address and browser information and copies in our website storage and office email, may be kept longer than these periods. They stay access-restricted and are used only as this policy describes.
We may need to keep particular records longer for legal duties, client property, minors' interests, ongoing rights, disputes or legal holds. Backups are removed on their normal rotation, not immediately. Our hosting, email and analytics providers keep their own service records under their terms. To see, correct or delete your information, email don@pb-law.com or call (317) 780-8000 (phones answered 24/7; office hours Mon–Fri 9–5). We review each request in light of these duties rather than promising to delete every record on request.
No attorney-client relationship
Using this site or sending the form does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please don't send confidential information until an attorney-client relationship is established in writing.
Attorney advertising
This website is an advertisement for legal services. The responsible attorney is Donald Poynter. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Nothing here is legal advice.
